Annie - November 25 - November 26, 2017

The School of Performing Arts

 End Notes

A Note from our Dramaturg

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is one that I bet a lot of families do – we go around the table, before we dig into our feast, and each of us says something that we are grateful for this holiday season.  I am grateful for so many things: my family’s health, my brother and soon-to-be new sister-in-law (congratulations Eric & Lisa!), working at a job I love and getting to spend my days with an amazing group of artists… and tomorrows - I am grateful for each tomorrow.

It’s easy to get caught up in the daily news cycle.  The endless stream of bad news is available 24 hours a day and it can feel overwhelming.  But like the anthem of our show says, “You gotta hang on ‘til tomorrow, come what may,” and isn’t that the truth.  Hanging on until tomorrow is exactly what we have to do sometimes.  Tomorrow, when the sun comes up and clears away the past with brightness and light.  It’s what helps me to find the goodness in the day.  As Judge Brandis says, “Sunlight is found to be the best of disinfectants.”  Isn’t that what we can all use a little of right now?  Sunlight and possibilities of tomorrow.

Thank you for coming!  Please sit back, relax and enjoy Annie!
