FACES IN MY FIST - November 12

The Writers Clique Production Co

 SPECIAL NOTE

CORI STEVENS

We welcome you to today’s presentation of Faces in My Fist, a new play in development by Lisa McCree. A great play is realized through extensive development work. At this stage, the focus of the creative process is in the service of the playwright and informing the work for later revisions. In hearing the play aloud and on its feet with actors and an audience, the writer is able to discover new insights.  And in the magic of that shared connection, we find the greatest inspiration.

So, thank you!  You are now a part of the life of this work. And we are so grateful to bring this work to life in Bridgeport as part of this weekend's festival.  Bridgeport is Lisa’s hometown.  And that’s important for us to celebrate. People think art and artists belong to cities like New York and Los Angeles.  Or perhaps Hartford or Westport for people in Connecticut.  I believe it is vital we bring stories to life and celebrate the human experience in all its diversity and complexity.  And that is what Lisa does so well - giving a voice to our experiences with humor, depth, power, and love.

We hope you find this work moving and meaningful.  It has deeply touched us all as creators. We delight in sharing this work and her words with you today.
