Charles E. Gerber*

Charles E. Gerber (Otto)’s career has spanned Broadway, national tours, New York City plays, TV and film. A two-time 2025 recipient of the Best Actor Award from the Burbank International Film Fest,ival (Calif.) and AMT International Film Festival (NY) for the multi-award winning short film A King’s Curtain, he has been an actor, director and teacher for 55 years in this profession. Broadway credits include Oh! Calcutta! and Hamlet. Gerber starred in B'way National Tours of Torch Strong Trilogy (Arnold Beckoff, cast by Harvey Fierstein) and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Maurice). He is among the founders of The Workshop Theater in Manhattan with his late wife, director Carol Bennett Gerber. NYC roles include the Cantor in the Metropolitan Playhouse revival of 1925's The Jazz Singer, Nat Cassidy's The Eternal Husband, Richard II, Bottom, Shylock, Brutus and Tartuffe. YouTube/ Charles E. Eva Gozé
as Anne Frank
Eva Gozé is a Dutch, classically trained actress whose path has taken her from a small corner of the Netherlands to the stages of New York. She recently graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has stage and screen experience across Europe and the U.S., and recently produced and starred in two short films, including an award-winning project. Most recently, she performed a piece she co-wrote in the Chain Theatre One Act Festival. She is honored to be part of The Diary, a play inspired by the life and writings of Anne Frank, whose story holds deep personal significance for Eva as a Dutch artist.

Hugo Persson
as Peter
Hugo Persson is a Swedish-born, New York-based actor who is making his NYC debut with "The Diary" at Theater for the New City. He moved to New York 2023 to study theatre at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film institute where he graduated June 2025. He’s been working on multiple short films, both in the United States and in Sweden. Prior to pursuing acting, Hugo competed professionally in horseback riding, which is still an important hobby for him. He is very grateful for the opportunity to be part of "The Diary" and to work with the whole cast and crew on this important story.
