Director's Notes
Legally Blonde: The Musical is more than just a fun and pink show! Beneath all the sparkles lies a resonant story about finding your strength and breaking expectations. It’s about believing in yourself, especially when others don’t.
Elle’s journey from a fashionista sorority girl to a confident Harvard Law student reminds us that we are all capable of more than we think. Through Elle we are also reminded of the importance of authenticity. This is a message I hope each of our students carries with them long after the curtain falls on stage tonight.
Just like Elle, our students have poured their hearts into this production, and I am incredibly proud of them. Bringing this show to life has been an honor. Our student’s commitment to excellence is evident as they shine on stage. They have lifted each other up and built something beautiful and inspirational together. I am profoundly proud of every single one of them.
To our beloved seniors: thank you. Your leadership and love for theatre has shaped this program in ways that will be felt long after you leave. Although you have left your mark on Tradition Preparatory High School’s Drama Department, it is now time to leave your mark on the world. Please know that you will always have us cheering you on from the wings as you star in your own show of life!
This production would not have been possible without the help of the extraordinary talents of the creative team at TPHS. To my co-director and choreographer, Sara Todd, thank you for being a constant source of support and insight. Your ability to bring movement to life has added vibrancy to this show and I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to work with you. To our music director, Gabriella Baro, thank you for guiding our students with such passion and musical brilliance. Your work has elevated every voice. To our set designer, Ashley Warren, your imagination has transformed our stage into a world full of color. Mrs. Coburn, Mrs. Warren, Doug, Douglas and Devin, thank you for volunteering hours of your time to help build this gorgeous set! Your hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated. To our crew, thank you for hard work and focus during the past few weeks.
Thank you to Mrs. Coburn for entrusting me with this opportunity. Your belief in the power of student voices and your support of the arts made this entire experience possible. Thank you to Mrs. D’Arcangelo, Mrs. Grillo, Mrs. Marchitto, Ms. Robinson and Mr. Silbaugh for your endless guidance and support through this production. None of this could have happened without my resilient coworkers. Huge shout out to our alumni, Steven McDowell, for offering your time and assistance. Your willingness to give back is extremely valued.
To the families of the cast and crew, thank you for the countless rides, costume finds and running of lines! Your support behind the scenes has been the foundation for everything that happens on this stage. We know this process asks a lot, and we are so grateful for your patience and unwavering belief in your students at Tradition Preparatory High School.
To everyone in the audience, thank you for coming out tonight to support the Drama Department at our school. We couldn't do this without your support. We look forward to seeing you at all our productions in the future!
With love,
