When I first heard the score of Dogfight I was instantly hooked. The music moved me in a way that rarely happens. This story and these characters are so real.
"Dogfight" is a musical about the power of compassion and empathy in an unlikely context. Set on November 21, 1963, on the eve of the Kennedy assassination, the majority of the show takes place in the final hours of an age of American innocence that will quickly dissipate. A sense of American arrogance helps to fuel the entitled worldview embodied by our Vietnam-bound Marines unaware of the dangers that lie ahead of them across the Pacific Ocean. This allows them to charge forward with a feeling of invincibility, void of consequence.
This show is sure to move you in a way that not many shows can. Hopefully with the help of my taleted cast and crew we will leave you with a feeling that will last you well past the final bows. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard and so tirelessly on making this production the success I know it can be!
