About the director and program...

Kirk Grizzle is in his eleventh year at South Forsyth High School.  He is the theatre artistic director, vocal music teacher and technical theatre director. During his time at South Forsyth, his choirs and theatre productions have won many awards and honors.  As a choral director, he has achieved some of the highest honors possible in the state of Georgia.  His choirs consistantly receive the highest marks at the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluations.  He has had two groups perform at the GMEA In-Service Conference.  In addition to large group work, his literary team earned several state championships in both boys and girls solo along with quartet and trio.  Last year, the South Forsyth HS literary team won the overall state championship with four events winning the state championship in their respective events.  Winning were boys solo, girls solo, boys quartet and girls trio.

In addition to choral work, Mr. Grizzle directs the main stage productions at South Forsyth.  Last year, South's performance of Shrek the Musical earned seven Shuler nominations including best director and best overall production.  South has a long standing tradition of quality theatre.  This year, South's fall one act production, Children of Eden was selected to perform at the 2015 Georgia Thespian Conference.

Mr. Grizzle would like to personally thank his associate director, Joni Smithwick, for her hard work and dedication to the program.  She has added so much to the program and he can't wait to see what the future holds.

He would also like to thank his beautiful wife, Melissa, for all of her love, support and dedication.  Without her, none of this would be possible.
