Peter and the Starcatcher - January 30 - February 01, 2026

Troy High School

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Peter and the Starcatcher serves as a prequel to J. M. Barrie's 1904 play and 1911 novel, and provides a backstory for the characters of Peter Pan, Wendy, the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell, Hook, and Smee. It is a delightful ensemble piece of theatrical storytelling that celebrates the power of imagination and the light  - or “starstuff” - that exists within all of us when we choose courage over fear and friendship over isolation. Beyond the mermaids and the pirates lies a poignant coming-of-age story. Peter, an orphan who has grown to distrust grown-ups, finally finds something worth fighting for, and Molly, a young woman navigating a dismissive world, discovers that leadership isn't about rank, but empathy.

I am so fortunate to work with such a talented and professional Creative Team. Thank you to Adrienne, Molly, Jake, Vince, Greg, Gino, and Thomas for making the magic happen. I’d also like to thank our sponsors and donors, and all the parent volunteers for their support with concessions, box office, ushering, and hospitality. And of course, I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you, the audience, for joining us on the journey to Mollusk Island. Enjoy the show!
