Notes From The Producer

The characters and cast in The Man With The Floppy Ears represent the wide range of culture and ethnicity of New York City but also a broad spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community. October is LGBTQ+ History Month, an observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender history as well as gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was important to produce this virtual version of a timely play that speaks volumes during a period in America of unrest and distress.

True Colors Project (TCP) is a social enterprise that is dedicated to developing highly innovative and influential creative works, fostering artistic dialogue with widely diverse audiences on social, political, and human issues. Our mission is to produce LGBTQ+ themed performances through theater, digital content, film, and live events that are designed to entertain, educate, and empower audiences with practical expressions of love and empathy.

TCP strives to create a more inclusive performing arts scene for artists of all disciplines by eliminating barriers to participation related to age, race, gender, social class, sexual-orientation, identity, disability, nationality, and religion. Since 2015 True Colors Project has been the founder and host of My True Colors Festival: Fighting For Social Justice and Cultural Diversity Through The Arts, a multidisciplinary arts event

The arts bring people of all backgrounds and cultures together. We exhibit and encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our goal is to break through closet doors and demolish divisive concrete walls around the nation through the power of the arts. We understand the impact of mission-focused theatrical performances and we are ready to keep that impact going.
