Choreographer’s Message

Oh, my little ones! My how far you have come. After all of our beautiful Wednesdays together, I must say that I am very proud of your ability to pull it together. This year, I have watched, more than ever, a shining enthusiasm for dance. It warms my soul. In fact, it almost seems like you’re…enjoying it! From silly to serious, I have truly loved and cherished the time I’ve gotten to spend with my cast. I have left school every Wednesday smiling, singing, and repeating the same songs over and over in my head the entire drive home. I feel so lucky to be able to work with such a wonderful group of students who can handle my judgments, critiques and corrections with a smile. It really brings me satisfaction to yell at you and make you leave with blistered feet. Ahh, to be young again. But really, you all have made my job as a teacher so much more meaningful, and I hope you recognize how special you are to me. When you get on stage each night, I want you to soak in the magical feeling you get and make it last. To my fellow adults: Robin Wilson, Derek Keith and McKenna Waycott, I could not even fathom a more fantastic, hilarious, driven and talented group of people to work with. My relationship with you all is what keeps me sane and entertained throughout the hard times. I love you more than words can express. Thank you all for coming together and allowing me to find joy through theater again.  I would also like to thank my soul mate, Anthony Medrano, for cooking me dinner after long nights of practice, and semi-ignoring my exhaustion and crabbiness. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you all! Ms Mullen

Musical Director's Message

To my singing children,

You have grown oh so much in such period of time. Do you even remember auditions?! It truly has been a joy to work with you and see your commitment to growth. I know it has been a hard road for some of you, but look at all you have accomplished. It has been an honor to be part of that process with you, and I appreciate you putting up with my special level of crazy. I know there were times when you felt like you could not do what was being asked, that you could not hit your notes, that you could not do another repeat. But you did. Time and time again, you grew and improved and impressed me. I hope you know how amazing you all are, because you have barely broken the surface on what you are capable of.

And to my fellow directors, do I get to be a fellow director now? You three have been fantastic to work with. You have allowed me to enter into this space with you seamlessly, and for that I thank you. You all have dealt with all of my “let’s try this” moments and be so kind to me when it did not pan out. To Robin and McKenna, I have to give you special thanks. As a former student of yours, it has been amazing to work side-by-side with you. You two continue to teach me.  To Elysia, this has been a blast. I sure don’t dance, but my goodness you do! Working with you three has been fantastic and I look forward to future opportunities to do so.  Mr. Keith
