  • Tanner Carlson-Huber

    as Billy

    Tanner, 12 and is going to Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School at ISU. He began tap at 3 and ballet at age 4 and attends tap festivals in the Midwest, most recently, the Twin City Tap Fest in Minneapolis.

    He played Toulouse in The Aristocats, and this is where he discovered his love of acting. Tanner seen a touring production of Billy Elliot The Musical, when it was performed in Peoria and many people have thought he would be a fine performer in this role. His dream is coming true!

    Tanner is also a self-directed composer, composing and arranging a full-length piece for his 5th grade band, entitled The Noble Washerwoman. He is currently composing music for the digital games he and his older brother, Tucker, are creating for future distribution.

    Mike has been involved in theatre since he was in the 3rd grade. From janitor to producer he has done it all. He is way beyond excited to have his whole family involved in this show (first time)! Much Love to Wendy, Chandra, AJ Evan and to Donnie for helping this show come together.

  • Donnie Kehr

    Director

    Donnie grew up in a talented family, dividing his time between performing onstage and studying music, eventually mastering piano, guitar, drums and bass. He also attended The School of American Ballet with a full scholarship. He made his Broadway debut at 12, co-starring with F. Murray Abraham in Legend (1976). At 21, he originated the role of “Marcus Macauley” in Joseph Papp’s musical adaptation of William Saroyan’s The Human Comedy (1984), first at The New York Shakespeare Festival and then on Broadway. On Broadway, Donnie appeared in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, co-starring with Toni Braxton. In his second Elton John show, he played the “Scab and Posh Dad” in the original Broadway company of Billy Elliot: The Musical. Donnie also, performed in national tours of West Side Story, and 1992’s George M. with star Joel Grey. He also has toured with the 1st National production of Jersey Boys reprising his role of “Gyp DeCarlo”.
