Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in 19th Century Yonkers, NY, has decided that it is time to take a wife. With the assistance of a matchmaker, Mrs. Dolly Levi, Vandergelder finds himself in the middle of chaos! When Levi meddles with two young clerks in search of adventure, a love-sick artist, and couple of innocent ladies, this swift farce runs headlong into several hilarious complications.
