  • Joe Brainard

    Director

    Joe is a native of the Southern Tier and is proud to call Endicott home. Joe is currently in his first year as the Director of Choirs at UEHS. Joe also serves as JFS Musical Director, UEHS Drama Club Director, UEHS Theater Manager, as a UEMB Instructor and of course, is the director of this show. Joe has worked on ten JFS musicals (9 as director). This is Joe’s 11th UEHS musical (7th as director). In his spare time (HAHA), Joe sings and acts in the community, tours the country visiting baseball stadiums, and catches an occasional movie with his friends and family. Joe is proud of this cast and crew. He hopes you read his overly sappy “Notes from the Director” at the end of the program. Enjoy the show!

  • Matthew Vavalle

    Assistant Director

    Matthew is a graduate of Purchase College Conservatory of Music. He has performed locally and regionally in operas and musicals with Syracuse Opera, Cape Cod Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, SRO, Cidermill Playhouse, and Cortland Repertory Theater. He now teaches music at All Saints Catholic School and is the Director of Music at Our Lady of Sorrows. He also maintains a private voice and piano studio. He is very proud to work with Joe Brainard and the talented students here at UEHS each year, and hopes that you enjoy the work that they’ve all put into this production of Mamma Mia! Special thanks to his wife Kelly, and three their children; Cecilia, Jude, and Caroline who support Daddy’s music. Also thanks to Aunt Shelly and all the grandparents who help make child-free rehearsals possible!
