 End Notes

A note from the Director,

There is absolutely no doubt that Macbeth’s story is one of ambition. Bloody, murdering, airing-on-the-side-of-psychotic ambition, yes, but this classic still serves as the poster child for executing your intentions to the absolute extent of their possibilities.

While my fellow cast, crew, and production team did not murder, behead, or swordfight anyone in the process, they have tirelessly shown me that they are truly the most ambitious people I have ever had the honor of working with. Not only were they able to produce the show you are about to see, but more importantly they were able to make a dream – a spark of an idea, thought up by none other than our own Luke Fahey – into a flourishing reality. Macbeth has helped build Bravo Bearcats as an organization from the ground up, and it has been a joy watching them grow together in concurrence.

It is immensely hard for me to express just how much hard work went into this production from every possible direction, but I know I can express my overwhelming gratitude for it. From sacrificing precious study time to attend rehearsals and taking trips to the recycling center to scour for set pieces, to paying out of pocket for costumes and planning extra meetings to perfect their fight choreography, I am speechlessly grateful I am for these superstars. They have poured out their heart and souls to get here and I have to make sure that does not go unnoticed. To everyone involved, thank you. And to those in the audience, and even greater thank you for being here and believing in us.

I believe theatre is one of the most beautiful things in the world, and when it comes to a bunch of broke college students getting together to make a dream a reality, it becomes all the more beautiful. We have created something worthwhile, and can not wait to see what the future holds for us. But for now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!!!
