as Tracy Turnblad
Hello my name is Yuliana Venegas. I’m 14 years old and a freshman at Schurr High School. I enjoy performing arts and playing volleyball. This year I played as the freshman libero for the Frosh/Soph Schurr volleyball team. I was a mentor for Unplugged Junior, and I’m currently the captain of this group. I have been in Unplugged for 4 years. This is my third musical production. I played the role of Miss Sherman in Fame the Musical, and Frenchy in Grease. It has been a fun experience. Throughout all the ups and downs, I’m truly grateful for the bond I have created with each and every member. I hope you enjoy our production as we have put a lot of effort, time and tons of dedication. Throughout all the hard work, just knowing we have placed a smile on your face reminds me of why we put on productions. Personally, one of the best feelings I get is to make others around me feel inspired, happy and overjoyed with our singing, dancing and acting.

Daniel Ortega
as Corny Collins, Seaweed
Hi there! My name is Daniel! I am a 15 year old sophomore at Schurr High School. I’m one of 4 children to my two parents who I love and am lucky to have. I do have anxiety issues, but that has not really stopped me from doing what I love. I’m a proud member of the Unplugged family for one year. Above all, I love music, acting, and performing. This is my second musical production. Last year, I played the role of Doody, this year I will be playing two lead roles: Corny Collins and Seaweed. When I’m not with my girlfriend Andria, I spend my free time working on music and practicing. Quite frankly, Andria and performing are a tie in terms of what I value most in my life. That’s about it for me. Hope you enjoy my double role!

Andrew Puentes
as Edna
Andrew a.k.a Mr Fluffy is a senior at Schurr High School. He is thrilled to play the title role as Edna Turnblad in this years production. His previous acting credits include lead roles in Grease (Sonny) and Kid Frankenstein (Irving). He has a passion for acting and plans to take his talents to Broadway or the Hollywood Big Screen. He would like to thank his friends and family for all their love and support, and wishes the cast and crew of Hairspray good luck and have fun.
