In 2022, “blackbird: Lennon-McCartney Icons”, the first major studio album for the duo in nearly 40 years, returns Marilyn & Billy to the Billboard charts and hit the #1 spot on the Apple iTunes R&B chart. Marilyn & Billy star in Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s directorial debut, “Summer of Soul”, already winner of major prizes at the Sundance Film Festival and People’s Choice Awards, and now frontrunner for Best Documentary at the Academy Awards.

 

The couple is set to receive the rare honor of a second star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and are featured on the soundtrack of “The Waltons’ Homecoming”, produced by Emmy-winner Sam Haskell of Magnolia Hill Productions for Warner Bros, which premiered on The CW Network to star ratings with their moving rendition of the Christmas classic, “Silent Night.”

 

Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., stars of The Original 5th Dimension before their iconic careers as a duo and solo artists, are the legendary voices behind champagne soul & pop classics, including "Up, Up and Away," "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In," "Worst That Could Happen," "Stoned Soul Picnic," "Wedding Bell Blues" and "One Less Bell (to Answer)." Marilyn & Billy recorded "You Don't Have to be a Star (To Be in My Show)," the #1 record which won them their own Grammy Award and a television series on CBS. Named by Billboard, "The First Couple of Pop & Soul”, the couple enjoys tremendous success through the years as recording artists, performers and authors.
