From the moment this show was announced in late June, our cast has been obsessed with the story of Anastasia. This is not your typical princess story but one based on a dark story of war, immigration, and searching for one’s family. The students on stage this weekend have embraced their roles and dug deep to find their characters. Middle school students aren’t typically practicing the waltz or polka these days; however, our cast has grown culturally by learning simple dance steps to portray these elegant dances on stage. As always, I am amazed at the end result of ten weeks of rehearsals. Thank you for joining us on our journey to the past. We hope you enjoy tonight’s performance of Anastasia, The Musical.
