The first film I ever saw in a cinema was Beauty and the Beast. I was three years old. I was completely enchanted by the music and the magic… until the Beast roared. At that exact moment, my bravery vanished and I had to be carried out of the cinema.
Coincidentally, Beauty and the Beast was also the second film I ever saw in cinema. The following weekend, we returned, this time armed with a blanket and a solid plan to hide during the intense moments. I’m happy to report that I made it through.
While my relationship with this story began with a healthy dose of fear, working on this production has been nothing but joy. I am incredibly proud of this cast and crew. We’ve navigated illness, snowstorms, scheduling curveballs, and a few metaphorical small fires, but this group has met every challenge with resilience, humor, and heart. What you’ll see tonight is the result of their commitment, teamwork, and willingness to keep going, even when things felt big and occasionally roar-worthy.
Thank you to our cast, crew, volunteers, and caregivers for the time, energy, and support you’ve poured into this production. It truly takes a community to bring a show like this to life.
It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as our company proudly presents…Beauty and the Beast Jr.
