Director's Note

As the VHHS Visual and Performing Arts Magnet strives to create even in the world of a pandemic, we are thankful and delighted to bring this surreal romantic comedy  to our community. We had the great fortune to spend time with the playwright and original producer of Almost, Maine where we heard stories of inspiration and were reminded that happiness and sadness can exist at the same time. And just how important it is to open your eyes to what is really there. Many of us have been experiencing that reawakening of the appreciation of the little things. We are glad that you joined us this evening and hope you enjoy these charming stories and people from this special town.

I am grateful for the Don's community and school. We have and extraordinarily supportive administration, a giving and expert staff and wonderful parents. I would especially like to welcome and thank our new tech director Mr. Seth Kamenow for his passion, compassion, design expertise and willingness to delve into new ways of producing theatre. To the actors and technicians, thank you for transforming your homes into mini theatres and navigating internet issues, barking dogs, and falling green screens. It has been no small miricle that you were able to come together from seperate spaces to produce this special play and I am rediculously proud of you. To my husband, parents, family, friends and former students, thank you for your continued love and support. And to you the audience - thank you for joining us tonight, and for yor support of the arts in education. Remember, art changes lives.
