Virtual Benefit Concert for Never Alone Again Resource Center - June 13

Virtual Benefit Concert for Never Alone Again Resource Center

 End Notes

Notes from Producer Catriona Fray:

Words cannot even express how much I love Theresa F. Johnston & what she does for her community & the world!

Almost two years ago, on October 2018, National Month for Domestic Violence Awareness, I visited the Resource Center inTeaneck, New Jersey (just across the bridge from where I live in Washington Heights), & met the incredible community. I absolutely knew in my heart & soul I wanted to dedicate my concert at the Duplex in NYC to this organization & raise donations & awareness.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, she has been creating hygiene kits & gift baskets to keep the community healthy & safe.

She is one of the strongest women I know.

Her priority is to protect & uplift survivors, espeically during a global crisis, & I knew I had to gather up my lovely, extremely talented friends & put on another concert, with the help of my dear music educator, songstress, & producer friend, Alena Bernardi.

From Never Alone Again website:

“This devastating crisis, coupled with a lack of food, exacerbates their already volatile situation at home.
Never Alone Again Resource Center (NAAG) (www.neveraloneagain.org) located in Teaneck, NJ, one of the hardest-hit towns in beleaguered Bergen county, continues to serve all those in need in every way they can.
Never Alone Again Resource Center has collaborated with the CFA and Full Extent Coaching and Consulting to ensure ongoing bagged lunch/snacks for kids (including weekends) and a stocked food pantry to support our most vulnerable in the surrounding communities.”

According the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, “1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men [in the U.S.] experience severe intimate partner physical violence,” adding up to “10 million abuse victims annually.”

During the current climate, we are also looking for ways to educate ourselves & support survivors of color. Unfortunately, the survivors of domestic violence are disproportionately American Indian, Alaskan Native, Black & Multiracial (source: NISVS), so supporting organizations like @neveraloneagainresource is a powerful way to help marginalized people in our country.

We love you & invite you to donate to Never Alone Again Resource Center to support them financially in protecting the community.

Thank you for joining us in a night of song, community at a safe "virtual" distance, & healing.

God Bless,

Catriona Fray & Alena Bernardi
