Director's Note:
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” --Jamie Anderson
For some people, for some things, we give until it truly hurts. We create illusions to replace what we've lost. We hold on so desperately to something no longer within our control. We even think that if we ignore the pain, the pain will go away. Even as that pain threatens to strip us of our sanity, we keep giving anyway, no matter the cost... And that's okay.
But when it gets to be too much, when the price you pay is causing others to grieve for you, it is important to take stock of what matters. To remember the people who love you, and the others that you love.
This musical is a message for all who have so much love to give, but no longer have someone to give it to. It is a message for all who have lost so much, to remember that there's more to this world than grief, frustration, and anger.
That even though there's no place for that love to go, you can still use it to create and mend bridges to those hurting with you.
