Hello to all and thank you so much for coming. When I sat down to write this note I started reflecting on the journey that it has been to get to where we are now. I am a person who struggles heavily with anxiety so it’s always difficult for me to start over with a brand new cast when working on a new show. Thankfully, this cast has been more than welcoming and understanding. They have been so flexible that I would count them all as acrobats. In the beginning, I was nervous and unsure but it didn’t take long for me to feel right at home with these wonderful people. I really hope I get the opportunity to work with these spectacular people again. I need to give a special thanks to the amazing people who helped make this show happen. Blake and the entire City of Leander Parks and Recreation staff have been so accommodating and helpful. They have given us a space to make theater magic while we are waiting to settle into our new building. I would also like to thank Kris Thompson for writing this hilarious melodrama and for giving us the opportunity to bring it to life. Another thank you goes out to Billy, our master of all things tech related. Without him, we would be doing a silent show in the dark. Thank you to the Way Off Broadway Community Players board, the cast, Bri, Zach, Bethany, and anyone else that contributed time and energy to this show. I would like to add one more thing that I think is very important. I am likely the first out transgender director at WOBCP and I think that’s pretty incredible. I cannot wait to see even more inclusivity and diversity blossom throughout this theatre. I have found a loving home where I belong. I have found people who love and accept me for me. Way Off Broadway is the most welcoming and accepting theatre I have ever been a part of. That is really really special. In conclusion, I love my cast and I love my Way Off Broadway theater family.
SPECIAL THANKS TO
Ron Revell, Nikki Hsueh, Billy Blake, and Kris Thompson
