  • Ethan Lee (NUTCRACKER PRINCE) head shot

    Ethan Lee (NUTCRACKER PRINCE)

    is from Canton, Ohio where he trained at the Canton Ballet for 10 years under the artistic direction of Cassandra Crowley. He is with Neos Dance Theatre in Mansfield, Ohio for his second year.  He has trained with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, and Chautauqua Institution in New York. Ethan has performed with the Canton Ballet dancing the roles of Sugar Plum Cavalier, Nutcracker Prince, among others. He has also appeared in performance with Erie Dance Conservatory, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker, Dance Takes Flight in Zanesville, and Wayne Center for the Arts’ Cinderella and Nutcracker. He is currently on faculty at A Time to Dance in North Canton as a ballet and contemporary instructor, and also as the artistic director of A Time to Dance Junior Company.

    Kevin Lowry (LIGHTING DESIGNER/STAGE MANAGER)

    has designed a number of productions for the Wayne Center Ballet and is excited to continue his work with the company. Kevin has is BFA Technical Theater from Otterbein University, Westerville, OH. He has done both scenic and lighting designs for various companies in Ohio, Michigan and Connecticut. Kevin lives in Wooster with his wife Alex and daughter Estella.

    Kara Madden (SUGAR PLUM FAIRY)

    Kara Madden (SUGAR PLUM FAIRY) began her training at age five at the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company. She was a Junior and Senior Trainee with GRBC under the direction of Gordon Peirce Schmidt, performing in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Can-Can. She also toured Italy and Croatia with GRBC. Her teachers included world-renowned dancers Gaiane and Akop Akopian. In 2010, Kara graduated Summa Cum Laude from Aquinas College with a double major in English and Biology. During college, Kara continued training at GRBC and participated in the summer intensive programs at STEPS on Broadway, Merce Cunningham, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Kara also performed with the Chicago Civic Ballet, directed by Larry Long, in its production of The Nutcracker, and is a founding member of the Grand Rapids Dance Project. This is Kara’s fifth season as a company member at Cleveland’s Verb Ballets Contemporary Dance Company.
