Director’s Notes

It is with both joy and disbelief that I write these words. Working with the students performing on stage tonight has been an incredible privilege. To say they’ve worked hard would be an understatement. I’ve been consistently impressed, humbled, and inspired by their dedication, focus, and the pure joy they’ve brought to every rehearsal.

Cast, thank you for trusting me and for pouring so much of yourselves into this production. I am so very proud of you.

To the Sound, Lights, and Stage Crew (aka Mr. Garing’s Minions): thank you for all you do behind the scenes to make sure everything shines on stage.

To Anna Passarelli, thank you for being my right hand and calming voice of reason. Your steady presence and brilliant ideas have shaped every moment of this journey.

To Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Spinosa, Mr. Garing, Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Keast, and Mrs. Roerig—thank you for your patience, guidance, and understanding as I navigated these last few months. Your support has meant so much.

Dr. Miller, thank you for mentoring me on this directorial journey and sharing your hard-earned wisdom.

Dr. Kretschmer and Mr. Burns, thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity.

Mrs. Griffenkranz, thank you for all the countless things—too many to name—that you’ve done for me.

To Mr. Blaskiewicz and my Lakeside family, I am grateful for your encouragement throughout this whirlwind play season.

Mrs. Lukan and DAISY, your time, energy, and tail-wagging excitement have added so much to this production. We are deeply thankful for you.

To my family, especially my husband, Justin, thank you for diving into this journey with me—whether through music, brainstorming, costume hunting, or makeup trials. I couldn’t have done this without your patience and willingness to listen to my nonstop musical chatter.

And finally, to our audience—thank you for being here to share these performances with us. A show isn’t complete without you, and we are so grateful for your support.

With Melodies and Monologues,

Mrs. Lorissa Taraschuk
