WOW. Somehow, by the absolute grace of God, we have managed to have a musical in the midst of so many things being cancelled. It wasn't easy, but I am so grateful that it was able to happen, and that we were even able to have a live audience during our filming! These kids have been through the wringer in the past year, and to be able to have a taste of normalcy in the routine of rehearsal and production has been a true blessing.
There are a few key people that need special recognition and thanks:
- Jamie Suidgeest, for all of the behind the scenes help, including painting sets we ended up not being able to use and climbing ladders I was too afraid to
- Lauren Suidgeest, for taking my silly idea for a tshirt and making it something cool and for costume shopping help
- Lisa Suidgeest, for the loan of the fog machine and giant pumpkin
- Sarah Lawrence, for help painting sets
- Asher Amick, for being the cutest "mascot" for the theatre program!
- Jeff Bailey, for all of the tech help
- Natalie Scalabrino, for filming and editing our show
- Addison Jarecki, for coming on short notice and taking photos
- John & Lisa Frey and Jill Hemmes for handling flower sales
We have an incredibly talented group of students, and throught this non-traditional format, I am so happy we were able to feature so many of them prominently. It is not an oportunity you get very often as a director, and I took full advantage of it. Please enjoy our performance, and check out grwestcatholic.org/theatre in the future for information on all things theatre!
To my seniors: I am so, so proud of you. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for your hard work. Break so many legs out there in the big world. Love always, Miss Ouellette
