Director Notes

Every year, I am reminded how important teamwork is in a production such as this one, and how thankful I am to have such skilled and generous people on my team.

Mr. (Hair) Williams, thank you for volunteering to work with the staging aspects of the show.  I have learned a lot from you, and I appreciate everything you have done for me and for my students.

Mr. Folds, thank you for the sacrifices of time and energy that you make for the musicals and the choir department on a regular basis.  I appreciate your dedication and the immense knowledge you bring to the various moving parts of a show like this one.  You are a valuable part of the Western Heights Fine Arts department.

Mr. (Conductor/Conductor) Williams, thank you for your continued commitment to helping me grow the vocal music program and willingness to assist in so many ways with the musical, including but not limited to conducting, acting, feeding cast and crew, and moral support.  I appreciate it more than I can put into words.

Mr. Jones, thank you for all of the hard work you put in on the set design for our last two musicals!  Your hard work and timely production of the sets are crucial to our success and are greatly appreciated.

Coach Gilliland, thank you for stepping in at the last minute to help out with final polishing of the show and assisting me with the lighting.  You are an important part of the success of the production.

Mr. Justice, thank you for stepping in at the last minute to assist with both the middle school and high school choirs, and to play for such a big show.  I appreciate your sacrifice of time, and I am so glad to have you on my team.

Mr. McKee, thank you for assisting with the props on the last two shows!  You have done a great job, and we appreciate you for tracking down all of the necessary items needed for our final productions.

Mrs. Weldon, Ms. Matthews, Mr. Jones, and Mr. Justice, thank you for donating your time to playing in the pit orchestra.  I am very grateful to have your levels of skill and knowledge as the foundation for the musical aspects of our show.

To my Seniors

Guadelupe Basurto:  I have enjoyed having you in choir these last two years, and I am so glad you joined the musical!  Your talents and effort in this musical are greatly appreciated, and you have done a great job.

Shyanne Cox:  "Holmes, Jr." isn't too far from accurate.  Your efforts and your desire to be the best performer you can be are noticed and greatly appreciated. You are a wonderful talent, and I hope you always know that your best is ALWAYS good enough.  I am so very proud of you.

LeVon Felton:  It was a pleasure meeting you and having you take part in this year's musical!  You are a very talented young man.  May you always pursue artistic endeavors!  #joinchoir

Rebecca Justice:  Watching you shine on stage has been one of the highlights of my career.  You have been a joy to teach, and I'm so glad you joined choir this year and auditioned for the musical.  Thank you for giving of your talents and time.

Ian Weathers:  It has been a pleasure to watch you grow as an artist in the last three years.  You are a true acting talent and I hope you continue in theatre arts in some capacity after high school.  Your commitment, effort, and attitude is inspiring and will be the thing that makes you great at the goals you pursue following high school.  I've enjoyed working with you, kid.

Best wishes to you all as you move forward to adulthood, and know that you ALWAYS have a place in one of my shows (and in my heart).
