This year’s Gypsy Robe recipient is someone who surprised me in all the best ways this year! She is hard working, kind, and hilarious! She was consistently prepared for rehearsals, listened attentively and participated fully at all times. I admired the way she wasn’t afraid to take risks and jump into some silly bits for her role. She was a role model student at each rehearsal. I am so happy that we get to enjoy her and her talents next year too.

This year’s Gypsy Robe recipient is Isabella Villa!

Congratulations Izzy!! Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and overall exemplary attitude! I am so proud of you!

This year’s Red Leader recipient is percussionist

Aharon Kitzes!

This year’s recipient is a person who is always prepared and knows his part before he comes into rehearsal. Even when he had to quarantine due to COVID, he still zoomed into rehearsals so when he came back it was like he didn’t even miss anything. He is a talented musician who puts in the work to be better everyday. He is a great leader and a great friend as well. He strives to make sure everybody feels welcome in the instrumental music program at Wood. He is constantly helping others be better musicians as well. He desires for the ensembles he is in to be the best and makes it happen by making sure not only his parts are done well, but also the parts of his fellow musicians. Not only is he a great musician, but he also is willing to help with whatever needs doing throughout the band program. He constantly shows diligence and professionalism. He is a true role model for all musicians. That is why Aharon Kitzes has earned the Red Leader Award. Congratulations Aharon and thank you for all of your hard work.
