Have you ever encountered someone with a disability and either felt bad for them or felt uncomfortable?
If I’m being truthful, in the past, there were times when I felt and thought that way. But then God gave me a gift. I received the great honor of building meaningful friendships with some incredible people who have disabilities. That was when God taught me to look at all people the way He made them…as His masterpiece.
God is the ultimate Creator, and He made all people. He chose what to add to each person, and He knew when to stop. God chose how to make us different, and He delights in His creation of us. He knows the exact details needed for each and every person, and He makes no mistakes in His workmanship. No mistakes. For when we are in Christ, we are the masterpieces of God.
As you watch Finding Nemo Jr., I invite you to join me. Join me in recognizing that each person on the stage was made for God’s divine purpose and in His image. Join me in celebrating that they are each fearfully and wonderfully made, and that God delights in them. If we take the time to really see these amazing people as Jesus does, we will realize we are in the presence of incredible, world-impacting masterpieces of God.
