FAQz (Frequently Asked Questionz) brought to you by your ComedySportz Coaches:

What is ComedySportz?
ComedySportz is competitive team improvisation where two teams of “Act-letes” play short-form improvisational games for your laughs and approval. There’s a referee, fouls, team uniforms, an announcer and a scorekeeper (our Wilton High School Score-rior.) At the end of each match, one team will take home the “Meaningless Cup” and bragging rights in the school hallways the following Monday.

The ComedySportz organization (now known as CSz Worldwide) was founded in Milwaukee in 1984. ComedySportz (a.k.a. CSz) is performed professionally in 24 cities in the US, as well as in Manchester, UK. The team you’ll see tonight is part of their National High School League and is hosted by the ComedySportz team based in New York City. You can find out more about the parent team at: CSzNewYork.com.

What are my duties as a Loyal Fan?
Shout out suggestions. Laugh at everything. Do “the wave.” Buy merch from our

in-audience vendors or at our concession tables outside the theater. Cheer for your favorite team. Be kind to animals and recycle. Come back and see us again, as each performance is different and made up on the spot.

Hey, where is Freeplay?
Wilton High School’s improv society, Freeplay, is still here! After ten seasons, the decision was made to switch to the ComedySportz on-stage format to help create even more inclusiveness and stage time for our Playerz. Your team coaches are both ComedySportz alumni (Heather DeLude, an English and Theatre teacher here at WHS, is an alum of CSz Chicago; and Glenn Packman is one of the current manager/owners of CSz New York.)

What’s with all the “Z”s?
Back when ComedySportz was founded in 1984, that was a cool thing. But, then again, so were leg warmers, Devo and the Ford Escort.

Any pre-game notes from the CSz Coaches?
Only that we’re thrilled with the commitment and team spirit our crew has demonstrated since team practices began last November. We appreciate the patience, dedication and hard work put forth by our amazingly talented team. We are so proud of each and every one of you.

So sit back, buckle-up, put your tray table in the upright position and get ready for a night of improvisational fun with ComedySportz!*
