Rachel Short
as Wife
Rachel is thrilled to be in her first WLT onstage play, and her first stage performance in Winchester! In the past year, she has joined many performance projects over Zoom from Winchester (including WLT Virtual Readers’ Theatre The Master Builder), but there is something special about being able to tread the boards again. Before moving here, she performed at various venues between San Diego to the Empire State Building. Favorites include Queenie in Lippa’s The Wild Party (Out of the Box Theatre Company, Santa Barbara), the World Premiere of American Rhythm (Lamb’s Players Theatre, San Diego), and recent online versions of Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife) and Hello Dolly! (Dolly), which let her create with her husband Chris (who she met at auditions for Moonlight Amphitheater’s summer productions!) Recently, Rachel has been researching musical theatre bridges and tap-dancing rhythms while writing for music theory publications.

Christopher Lee Short
as Deacon
Chris simply cannot stay away from WLT! Living on the edge, he was involved in WLT’s first Zoom performance playing Orson Welles in Orson’s Shadow by Austin Pendleton and now he finds himself involved in this, our first filmed performance! Since March 2020 Christopher has been involved in 30+ virtual projects with groups based all over the United States. Favorites include Mendel in Falsettos, Bruce in Fun Home, Neville Craven in The Secret Garden, Malcolm in Macbeth, Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, and of course Baker in Into the Woods and Horace in Hello Dolly! both opposite his stunning wife, Rachel! Christopher is thrilled to be working with her, onstage, for the FIRST TIME EVER! Many thanks to Graham, Valerie, Sara, Betsy, and the rest of this great production staff and crew for all of their hard work and dedication! It takes a village to make this possible.
