OUR MISSION
The mission of the Winston Churchill High School Theatre Department is to educate humane theatre artists and scholars, preparing them to enter recognized universities, conservatories and professions with a knowledge of evolving industry expectations and standards; to sustain and enrich the art form by encouraging and nurturing the development of new talent through the exploration of diverse genres; and to provide students with unique artistic experiences that foster skills in collaboration, communication, problem solving and leadership.
"Anything Goes" was originally performed in 1934. Since then, the Cole Porter classic has been revived many times, performed across the globe, transformed into movies twice, and even performed on TV. The idea for this ocean liner themed comedy is credited to producer Vinton Freedley. The producer had been chased out of the country by creditors and was living on a boat in "international waters" when he conceived the central concept of the play.
