About WTYA
Woodford Theatre Young Artists is a select education-focused training program encompassing all areas of theatre arts from pre-production to performance, with curriculum designed to develop and sustain the whole theatre artist.
This year's group is comprised of 18 students ages 11 to 18 from all over Central Kentucky: Versailles, Lexington, Lawrenceburg, Nicholasville, Frankfort, Georgetown, and Midway!
The students participate in weekly training, with performance opportunities both locally and regionally. The WTYA curriculum is taught by theatre professionals who have a desire to lead young artists and prepare them for the future.
Weekly training includes training in all areas of theatre - from dance, music, and acting to design, technical work, and marketing. Guest artists with specific areas of expertise are utilized to broaden the students' learning opportunities.
