PRODUCERS' NOTE

Wowww! We are so thrilled to see Worst First Kiss’ inaugural production take flight! What started as an elusive ambition during a midnight FaceTime between the four of us is now a living, breathing show of which we could not be prouder. And as three veteran stage-kissers, we’re elated to see the last of our quartet earn his first stage kiss. This show was an enormous undertaking, especially for four teenagers whose prior experience in producing has been four-person “cabarets” in Joey’s living room. By some stroke of luck, we came across the truly incomparable and inimitable Jonah Platt, who has given us his unwavering dedication and collaboration, a gift for which we can never thank him enough. His creativity and commitment are unmatched. After many tireless hours of rehearsals and production team meetings, here we are, putting on a play close to our hearts, and donating a portion of ticket proceeds to an organization that we care about deeply. We are honored to prove that teens are capable of creating opportunities that inspire change. In the current political climate, acceptance and support are invaluable, and we are proud to use our craft in fostering that sentiment.

JP: Thank you for putting up (and contributing to) our incessant musical references and elevating this play to new hights with such passion and kindness. You held our hands until it was time to let us transform into our own producing-playtpuses. Thank you for shepherding us in our quest in becoming “professional theatre nerds,” like you. We've all grown immeasurably. (And thank you Courtney for the snacks!)

Cool Zach Marsh! We can never show sufficient gratitude for your stunning and heartfelt compositions that transform this play. You rock forest green like no other.

Our supportive and tolerant parents, who have never failed to schlep us to rehearsal: we have our licenses now (you’re welcome), but we’ll always need you. Thank you for all that you do. Especially Rikki for her banana bread.

To this teen company, thank you for lending your remarkable talents to this production, and for allowing an unbreakable 12-way friendship to form. It’s been a jellicle ball.

To all of our generous donors, from the bottoms of our hearts, thank you for your support. We hope and aim to make you proud with this show and with all that we do.

We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed working on it. Let’s change the world.

Love,
Chandler, Charlotte, Joey, and Judy
