YES to Kids

 Director & Site Producer's Notes

I can't begin to find the words to express my deepest gratitude towards the entire production team! Thank you to Yes, Anna Barker and Julia Chen for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to continue to do what I love! Thank you Manor Elementary School for allowing Yes to continue to educate children in the arts and to allow them an outlook for their creative minds to flourish.

Thank you Kristen Bakowski for making my simple drawings a work of art onstage! Thank you Ella Adams and Rachel Maloney for the fantastic costumes, and thank you to every single parent volunteer. You are just as much a part of the show as anyone else, so I hope that you feel proud! Thank you to everyone for making the show come alive!

And last but certainly not least, thank you to my extraordinary actors and actresses of Manor Elementary. It has been such a joy watching you get into your characters, hear your beautiful voices, and make my dances a reality. I hope that you take this experience and apply it to your every day life. You are special and unique and only you can give something special that no one else can replicate.

Jannely Calmell

Director

It has been so fun to watch this production come together over the last several months: from auditions, when some of the kids could barely find their voices, up until now, when they are bringing their characters vividly to life in song, dance and delightfully-choreographed fight scenes. What a transformation! We have the hard work of three wonderful directors to thank for it: Director Jannely Calmell, Assistant Director Izaak Heath, and Musical Director Peter Penhallow. Thanks so much for bringing the magic, you three! Hogwarts has nothing on you.

Huge thanks for the behind-the-scenes work of Julia Chen and Anna Barker in keeping Yes Theater going strong in all its glorious chaos: to Sarah McKereghan for managing the Kid Tech program (not to mention the kids); and to Kristin Bakowski for making something out of nothing--the terrific sets are all down to her. Thanks, too, to all the parents who helped out: from bringing snacks and giving rides to building sets and herding cats, this play was a group effort and you should give yourself a round of applause. Special thanks to Ella Adams for her unfailing good humor and relentlessness as Costume Coordinator, to Kristina Gregoire for taking on role of Kid Tech Coordinator, to Jessica Rosenberger for stepping up as Props Coordinator, and to Meredith Williams, for loving all our kids like her own as Site Manager.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with all of you.
