Welcome to the Holy Names Academy fall production of Stage Door by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman. This is fun and touching story of a group of young girls who live together in a big house in New York City called "The Footlights Club”. It is place for young women who come to New York City with stars in their eyes. As the women survive cramped surroundings, the perils of dating and the ups and downs of auditioning for Broadway, they learn about themselves and each other.

 

Act I, Scene 1 : The Footlights Club ~ A club for girls of the stage in 1930's New York City. It is an October evening, just before the dinner hour. The girls are coming home from matinees, from job-hunting and will soon be out again on dinner dates, playing the evening performances or seeing movies.  

Act I, Scene 2 : The Footlights Club ~ One of the bedrooms as some girls settle in for the night and others prepare to go out.

Act II, Scene 1 : The Footlights Club ~ Mid-morning.

 

INTERMISSION 

 

Act II, Scene 2 : The Footlights Club ~ 7 o'clock in the evening, about two months later.

Act III, Scene 1 : The Footlights Club ~ A Sunday morning, the following October. 

Act III, Scene 2 : The Footlights Club ~ Midnight. 

 

 

 

 

*Intermission will be 15 minutes in length. Concessions will be available for purchase on the 1st Floor. A gentle reminder that food and drink is not allowed in the auditorium. We ask that you please finish your refreshments prior to returning to the theatre for the second half of our production. Thank you!
