Disney's High School Musical - April 07 - April 10, 2022

Lake Brantley High School

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

We made it! To say that this was a team effort would be an understatement. We had to create a Wildcat family in just a few months to even make this possible - let alone to make this phenomenal!

Our Creative Team - Nick Powers, Samantha Graham, Anthony Geluso, and I - knew as soon as we finalized this cast list that we were about to create something truly special. Every Disney show requires top talent, boundless enthusiasm, and a commitment to put in the hard work. This cast has surpassed all of our hopes in each of those areas. High School Musical in particular demands a genuine spark of magic - and every single member of the cast and crew has brought their own unique spark to this process. In my decades both onstage and behind the scenes at theatres at many levels, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. And these kids don’t even know how amazing they are!

Now, I must warn you: this show can appear to be all camp and Disney sugary-sweet goodness with no substance. Remember the movie?! Well, if you’re here for that, prepare for disappointment. Alas, this show is really a deeply powerful allegory about individuality, community, and acceptance. Squeezed in-between comedic bits and absurd musical tropes are experiences and challenges we all have faced, which this cast projects straight into our hearts and minds with both earnestness and panache.

I’ve blathered on enough! Now, I’ll let the the show speak for itself.

Proud to have known you…
Proud that you were mine…
Proud in everything,

Mr. Donald Fields
