Disney's Aladdin JR. - April 06 - April 07, 2022

Metropolitan Arts Academy

 End Notes

Note from Principal Trujillo

It has been so wonderful to watch our very first official production come together.  Our cast and their directors have worked relentlessly to create something magical for our school community, our families and themselves.  This experience was new for all of our performers and we have been able to proudly watch as they courageously studied characters, memorized lines, practiced choreography, learned lyrics and spent many hours working on their craft.  Our tech. crew learned skills to produce the best sound, lighting and set design for our show. The costume crew worked with Ms. Nowosad to create beautiful costumes and accessories.  Our Jazz band put together incredible versions of the songs.  Our art guild produced incredible artwork and supported set design.  Over 60 students and several staff members worked to make our very first production something to remember.  Our school community is a better place because of this work and our unified effort. A special thank you to Ms. Karla who stayed late in the office every rehearsal to ensure we had clinic support and the students' medication available if they needed it.

We are so very proud of our performers and hope that you enjoy the show.

Note from the Director

Hello everyone and welcome to Metropolitan Arts Academy’s production of Disney’s Aladdin Junior! This script is based on the very popular movie produced by Disney 30 years ago, in 1992. The songs and characters may be very familiar and nostalgic to some of you. This production is the result of many, many hours of hard work by countless people. The young artists involved in this production are amazing and specially chosen for their roles. They are not only very talented, but they are extremely hard working and resilliant. They also seem to have been bitten by the same “Theatre Bug” that bit me when I was their age. I hope to continue passing on my enthusiastic love for Theatre Arts through this musical, and all of our future performances to follow. I would like to thank the incredible Arts Team here at The Met. Without their hard work, collaboration, and support; this production would not be possible. I would also like to thank Myrian Nowosad, Erin Breitenbach, our Adminsitrative Staff, and the parents of all students involved. You have all been willing to help and jump in whenever needed. And to the spectacular cast, I am so proud of you! I look forward to watching you shine ontage each nignt. Theatre cannot exist without an audience, so I would like to thank you all for coming to share our journey to a far away land. It’s a whole new world!
