Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - December 09 - December 11, 2016

Children's Theatre of Long Beach

 End Notes

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

"A story about a boy whose dreams came true...and it could be you!"

I first heard that lyric from this popular show when I was about the age of six or seven.  I imagined that everyone has a destiny and I just knew that one day I too would see my dreams come true.  I learned as do so many students that it takes dedication to your dreams and sometimes , just like Joseph, you experience great highs and even greater lows.

Learning to have faith in your dream and to hold on to it only comes in those low moments when you realize you are never alone. I can say my dream is coming true right now. You are here, reading this, supporting the arts and CTLB's mission.

It's coming true right now, because backstage in the wings,  and above you in the crew loft, dreamers are with us about to put on a show.  It's coming true because dedicated caring people have come together and donated hours and hours of their precious time to make this event happen.

I am so humbled and grateful for all the wonderful people who have supported CTLB and each other to make this moment happen. Always remember, you are never alone... and dreams can come true!

Children’s Theatre of Long Beach (CTLB) is a dynamic theatre company serving the Long Beach Community and its families with school age children. CTLB was founded in 2013, its inception inspired by the growing need for children’s theatre programs and family theatre in Long Beach and neighboring communities.

CTLB is an artistic resource for Long Beach schools and libraries, offering much needed after school theatre programs at the elementary school level and mainstage shows open to all ages.  Classic literary and theatrical works are carefully chosen and produced for our Main Stage and additionally, we offer programming for After-School Programs and Workshops. It is our mission to provide engaging, enriching, and educational plays and musicals that are accessible to all who want to participate.

Long Beach is an international city rich and full of cultural diversity. CTLB creates artistic opportunities for the wide ranging population of our city and invites children (and a few grownups) to come together and put on a show! Our productions and programs are inclusive and offer an artistic home to all who wish to join us on stage.

We strive to teach, inspire and create experiences that will leave a lasting impression on our young actors and it is our hope that those experiences will inspire them in all aspects of their lives well beyond the stage.

CTLB is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

We welcome donations-thank you for helping keep the arts alive!
