The cast, crew, and theater community would like to welcome you to the Addams Family Musical! This show has come such a long way from where we have started, from over 120 people auditioning, to learning brand new songs and choreography, and to performing in front of you all today. We are all so excited to be able to finally show off our hard work to ASD. We hope to have put on a phenomenal show, however all that does not come easy, or as a lone cast.
Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Wright, our amazing musical director! His hard work, dedication, and most importantly patience has made this show as brilliant as it has become. Without the music part of this musical, it would have been a pretty quiet show. It is easy to say that Mr. Wright turned this show from a bunch of kids standing on stage saying some pretty unusual things, to the bunch of kids performing to their limit that you see today.
As you may guess, Ms. Ashley and Miss Millard had a pretty tough job coming up with and teaching over 50 kids choreography for all of these numbers, so a big thank you to Louise Gathion in Grade 11, as the assistant choreographer! She is an incredible dancer, super funny, and a great person to be around! Thank you Louise for making this experience so enjoyable and for being so kind and wonderful to all of the cast!
The beautiful lights, the dynamic sounds, and of course the gorgeous Addams Family Mansion take this show to the next level. A big thank you to Mr. Costa, Mr. Safiq, Mr. Adrian and Mr. Jimmy for all of their hard work! A huge thank you to the HS Tech class for creating the graveyards on both sides of our stage, and to Ms. Hermanek and the MS artists for their spooky portraits on our set! Also, thank you to Ms. Carla and Ms. Monge for their creative talents and scenic painting!
A huge thank you to Ms. Espinosa and CAST. Ms. Espinosa is definitely a jack of all trades! From the ticket sales, playbills, costumes, and even makeup, Ms. Espinosa’s amazing organizational skills have helped us all the way throughout this show! And to CAST, our lovely group of parent volunteers, who started our honesty basket, which kept our energy levels high during rehearsals, and organized our pizza and shawarma lunches during our long Saturday rehearsals, all of their hard work has helped the cast and crew tremendously throughout this time.
Of course all of this backstage work would have been for nothing without the fabulous woman that is Ms. Donelson! From the concept design for the set to organizing our costumes, running the tech crew, and her ingenious ideas, she made this show really come to life, (not so much for the ancestors!)
Next, the lovely Miss. Millard, the HS drama teacher and director! She has it all, the talent, the beauty, and of course the wit! Every scene that she has helped put together, not only do we as a cast have fun with, but you as an audience will as well! She has some amazing choreography skills to display, Miss. Millard is so fun and a wonderful person to get to do a show with!
Last but definitely not least, of course we have to thank the famous Ms. Ashley, our director and choreographer! The amount of time and effort she has put into this show to make it as phenomenal as it is today, is amazing. Her hard work, talent, dedication, patience, (the amount of adjectives I could list is endless,) is truly astounding. We feel so lucky and privileged to have such a wonderful person be in charge of our show. No matter how many mistakes we make, she is always there, supporting us, encouraging us, and teaching us how to grow as actors, and even as people. Ms Ashley is truly an inspiration to us all.
Finally, we would like to say a thank you to you, the audience. Thank you for being here today, whether it is to support your child, your sibling, your friend, or simply to enjoy a wonderful musical! Without you, of course, there would not be a show! We as a cast and crew truly hope you enjoy this musical in all its glory.
We coldly welcome you all to the Addams Family.
