The story of Mulan originated in ancient Chinese oral tradition and poetry. Since then, Mulan has inspired girls all around the world to believe in themselves. "Mulan Jr" reminds us that women can achieve anything that they put their minds to. Mulan's tale resonates with those that have been told that they are too "different" or "don't belong". This story is for you.

Our cast has enjoyed learning outside their cultural norms, and have put their whole hearts and minds into telling this story with the upmost respect and honor for Chinese culture and practices. I would like to personally thank the cast for constantly inspiring me, and for serving as a reminder as to why theatre arts are so important in our youth. This is a truly awesome story to tell, and I'm so proud of you all for making it a reality.

A huge thank you goes out to the entire Artstarts family; the parents, production team, set crew, props, staff, board, and countless others who made this show a reality and a success. Without you, this could not happen! Thank you for this amazing opportunity and for all your help, support, and open arms. Joey, thank you for encouraging me throughout this entire process and for lending your martial arts expertise to this production; these kids value you so much, as do I. Marcia, thank you for keeping myself and everyone else on track, being the stunning boss lady that you are, and for never mincing words when you know I need the real talk. Granger, this experience has fortified my love for you as a peer, colleague, mentor, artist, and friend. Thank you for holding my hand when I needed it and for facilitating and allowing their voices to shine so beautifully onstage. 

Remember that everything is NOT written in stone. Sometimes all it takes is moving one tiny rock to start an avalanche and bring forth a positive change.
