Note From The Director

I have wanted to direct a Craig Lucas play since I had to perform a monologue in an early acting class. He has a wonderful way of making the mundane beautiful and Prelude to a Kiss is no exception. He wrote it in the height of the AIDS epidemic, when people were watching their loved ones go from vibrant and alive to deathly ill overnight. Prelude is an allegory of love during illness and hardship and the choice of staying together despite it all. Told so wonderfully through characters similar to who we have in our lives. I hope you fall in love with these characters and this story. Thank you to all who have made this possible. Far too many to count!  A huge thank you to the Bastrop Opera House board, staff and the hard working cast & crew! But above all, I am thankful to God for the outlet of storytelling through theatre!
