 Director's Notes

Seussical musical. Finally! The BHS Theatre staff, cast, and crew, finally have the opportunity to bring this beloved show to the stage to share with our community!

Our first attempt at Seussical musical was put to rest by Covid-19 in March of 2020, less than three weeks away from our first public performance. We thought we would simply have to postpone for "two weeks". Oh, how naive we were.
With all the uncertainty of the last school year we decided Seussical musical needed a little longer of a rest. Then, finally, this fall, we were able to revive our vision and bring new life to Seuss.

Our original show included 75 cast and crew members. Of the original group 34 students have graduated in either 2020 or 2021, a few have moved away, and a few have transferred schools. This new cast includes 24 original cast and crew members and the remainder of the students are new to BHS Theatre but so eager to show you their love of theater and their joy of performing.

None of this could have been accomplished without my amazing staff! They have worked tirelessly this year and in 2020 to bring this show to life. We all are happy to finally see Seuss on stage! We are so proud of these students navigating Covid, masked rehearsals, homework, quarantines and more. You all have worked so hard and you deserve all of the praise and love you receive from your audiences.

This show is so beloved by our students that we have graduates from our original production working on publicity aspects.  Dax DiPiazza (2020 BHS Theatre alum) designed our logo, banners, posters, and other publicity items. Wesley Cotter (2021 BHS Theatre alum) built the playbill you hold in your hand. Dax and Wesley we can't thank you enough for continuing to share your talents with us. Your involvement now shows us all just how special our little theater program really is.

I would like to give the warmest thank you to our administration and staff at BHS High School. Your continued support for our program means so much to us and all of these students and their families.
I would also like to thank the parents involved in our program. So many of you have volunteered, time, money, and skills, to feed us, raise money for our program, and help ensure that this show can happen. We cannot thank you enough, your service has not gone unnoticed.

With that, I wish you, the audience member, the joy of a child as you watch this amazing show that is true entertainment for all ages. We hope you love Seussical musical as much as we do.
