The Secret in the Wings - November 01 - November 02, 2019

Bronxville High School

 Acknowledgements

Playwright Mary Zimmerman was once quoted as saying she "likes to stage the impossible." Creating the world of The Secret in the Wings would certainly have been impossible without assistance from many, many people. In no particular order, here are some members of our Bronxville community that deserve our unequivocal gratitude.

Thank you!

To Ann Meyer, Marcellus Lessane, and the entire Bronxville administration for your trust and support.

To Brad Ashley, Brian Parker, and Robbie Williams for working tirelessly to bringing our lighting system up to speed, and for introducing me to the magical world of SolarFrames.

To Peggy Williams and the Bronxville Foundation not only for equipping the theater with world class spotlights, but making sure they arrived ahead of time.

To Brian Wedeking, for your technical know-how, sound advice, and consummate professionalism literally building the world of The Secret in the Wings. I look forward to building more theatrical worlds with you.

To the actual Mr. Moore for spending a Saturday morning with me schlepping to Astoria to purchase a wardrobe....the Greek honey pastries, kebabs, wine and your good company were a bonus.

To Pam Simpson for her continued guidance, support and friendship. Now tell us all the spring musical......Please?

To Darcy Kaye and Bronxville PTA for the publicity and the T-shirts.

To Beth, Franco, Fred, Sarah and Ally in the English department for your personal encouragement as well as your 'encouragement' for certain audience members.

To the crew, so ably led by Finn and Brian, the stars behind the scenes, for your dedication and work ethic.

To Gabby, Isabel and Tenzing for helping me see what I can't see, reminding me what I've forgotten, and guiding the cast so ably. We couldn't have done this without you.

To the cast for your creativity, openness, and willingness to follow each other to this basement of our collective imagination. You make me proud.

To you, the audience, for choosing to spend your time with us. There's no theatre without you.

To my sons Beckett and Eliot, for teaching me everyday to see the world with a child's eyes...and for providing deep insight into the Father of Seven Sons.

To my hero of a wife who not only had to mother our children over far too many late rehearsals, but reserved enough grace and patience to care for and about me.  I love you...and I'll be home soon.

With gratitude,

 - Rob Cross, Director
