The Intern Co. started in 2003 as a theatre education program designed to get young people involved in Burlington County Footlighters. There were no summer theatre programs for teens in this area at the time. Seventeen years later, Intern Co. has produced professional actors, directors, designers, and musicians...as well as doctors, professors, and more.
The program has evolved as it’s grown. We still provide a fun summer and a great learning experience, and now we specialize in new, unusual and challenging plays. The Interns get the chance to work on material they might not find elsewhere, and to have some great conversations about what kind of art we want in our lives. And all for just $40! Just enough to buy the wood to build our sets.
This is where YOU come in. We're running some fundraisers upstairs - chances to help us support the program, and to give back to Burlington County Footlighters, who have hosted us all these years. Footlighters is evolving too, and there's a LOT of good theatre happening here. Their ongoing support has been tremendous. Very special thanks to all who came out and supported our #RushARGO Frat Party Fundraiser, on such a hot day!s.
Intern Co. is all about community, and art, and trying something new - NOT about making money from the efforts of young people. So please consider helping us out and supporting a place where young artists can experiment and thrive!
Thank you!!!
