Welcome to the Show!

I am thrilled to welcome you to the Heights High School Vocal Music Department’s production of Shrek the Musical. Adapted from the popular 2001 animated movie, this performance will take you into a fairy tale world filled with lovable characters and timeless songs. I have no doubt that you will be impressed by our students’ talents and the amount of hard work they put into this show.

Nearly 500 CH-UH students from all grade levels have been involved in this production. Vocal Music Teacher Jesse Lange has led the students, nurturing their raw talents and serving as an encouraging, positive force. With on-stage performers, our pit orchestra, stage crew, sound and lights, and cosmetology students from our CTE program serving as makeup artists, this was truly an all-inclusive effort.

Of course, productions on this scale require strong community and parent backing. I would like to thank Reaching Heights for their ongoing generous support and all the community volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make these performances a reality. I also want to recognize the Vocal Music Parent Organization and all of our cast and crew members’ supportive families.

Our District’s mission is that “our schools provide a challenging and engaging education to prepare all our students to become responsible citizens and succeed in college and career.” Involvement in the creative arts provides that challenge and engagement for our students, instilling a sense of confidence needed for future success.
