This production is the culmination of combined efforts of over fifty students, staff and community members. The entire ensemble would like to extend a special thanks to the following;
- Mr. Joaquin Hernandez, Pricipal, and the MacArthur High School Administration for your continued support of not only all our efforts but our entire program
- Ms. Mahalia Dinglasan and Mr. Corbin Shnuriger for so graciously and generously welcoming us into your space and offering us your help with so many details.
- Mr. Timothy Kitterman for all your help during the planning stages and for connecting us with your fantastic students to run this show.
- Ms. Shuyi Wang and Ms. Amanda Menendez
Your addition to our group has made a monumental difference in what we're all able to accomplish. You are amazing kids and have definitely set the bar high as the first ever Mac Folklorico managers!
- Ballet Folklorico Sol de San Antonio for lending us costuming. Our kids felt so special getting to shine in these costumes on stage. Thank you for being there for us!
- Mr. Josh Prado and Mariachi Unido of LEE H S for their long-standing relationship of collaboration with us here at Mac Folklorico. There's nothing in the world like dancing to live music. Maybe we'll even get some musicians to dance with us! It's always a joy to collaborate with you.
- All our volunteers from Mac Theater to NHS to community members. We couldn't have done it without you!
- Mac Teachers for taking care of our dancers' education. Our dancers are expected to perform ABOVE AND BEYOND in the classroom in order to earn the privelege of performing on the stage. You make it possible.
- Steubing Ranch E S Folklorico Club and Nimitz M S Folklorico for coming to Mac to dance with us and gracing our stage with your art. We are thrilled to see folklorico growing in our district and look forward to continued collaboration.
- Mac Folklorico Parents You have the BEST kids!!! Thank you for letting me borrow them all the time, driving them all over the place for practices and gigs, helping with every project, bringing snacks and water, picking up every bobby pin and truly supporting our love for this art form. This performance is FOR YOU!
The spirit of Armonia:
Art is better when it's shared, and this show is all about the spirit of collaboration, combining musicians, dancers, creatives, cultures, generations, and our esteemed audience to revel in harmony and the joy of what we can create together. We value collaboration, not competition, in an artform that for so many represents a vital effort to maintain a connection to a culture of origin in an immigrant community as well as a love of movement and music and percussion for all. We strive to perform to the best of our ability so as to bring the best possible performances to our community and to represent our school well.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your beautiful attention tonight and for your support of our program!
