Dear Dunecrest Community,
I am beyond thrilled that my directorial debut has been "Matilda Jr". It has been an absolute joy to work with these students the past 4 months. This cast came to rehearsals each day with a bright enthusiasm and willingness to work hard. They learned their songs and lines before due dates and I could not be more proud of what they have accomplished!
I need to give a HUGE shout out to my partner in crime, Ms. Prema, without whom this show would not have been possible! She has been the best co-director, taking the lead on costumes, choreography, and really anything that needed doing! We are so lucky to have her!
Thank you to the elementary teachers that volunteered their time to make this show a success! Thank you to Ms. Jessica for creating the most exciting choreography, to Ms. Amie for wrangling the kids backstage, and to Ms. King for helping out with hair and makeup.
Thank you to Mr. Cramer and Mr. Jeff for their unfailing support of the Arts at Dunecrest. Our school is lucky to have administrators that recognize the importance of a well-rounded education, inclusive of the performing and visual arts, as well as physical education and technology.
Best of luck to my talented 5th graders! Aarya, Tony, Emine, Kadin, Lea, Mai, Nia, Skylar, and Yehia, you will be so missed next year! Please continue participating in theater in secondary!
Much love,
Ms. Betsy
