FROM THE PRODUCER

Dear Patrons,

For over 75 years The Wizard of Oz has come into our homes, onto our TV screens and filled our hearts with magic and wonder. The story and its message have inspired countless movies, mini-series, TV series, books and even the mega Broadway musical phenomenon- Wicked. Through the decades, its timeless message and beautiful melodies have touched each of our lives in its own way. For me, The Wizard of Oz became my introduction to the theater at the age of 16. After just losing my mother to serious illness, this was a time when I, like Dorothy, was on my own journey to find where I belong. Its message reached out to me and the magic of live theater captured my heart forever.  In fact, that production of The Wizard of Oz appeared on this very stage under the direction of friend and mentor, Kim Parrish. Now, all these years later, I am blessed to have the opportunity to be producing musicals on the very stage that gave me my start alongside some of the dearest friends a person could ask for. So you see, “there really is no place like home”, and The Colonnade Theater is just that for me.

Today, as you settle into your seats at the beautiful Colonnade Theater, I invite you to let yourself be swept up by the winds of the tornado and allow yourself, and your heart, to journey to the magical land of Oz. May its timeless message and endearing legacy touch your heart and your life in the same way that it has mine.

Special thanks to my incredible production team including; Jan, Richard, Kristin, Jaimie, Ken, Keith, Tobey, Gray, Michelle, Colt, Lauren, Jennifer, Jimmy and Stephanie. Without your dedication, patience, and amazing talents, this production could have never made it to the stage today. Thank you to the our incredible cast, crew and volunteers who have poured their whole hearts into every rehearsal and now each performance, you truly bring the magic to life! Thank you to The Colonnade staff and volunteers who have faithfully supported us all season, we appreciate all that you do to make all of the productions here at The Colonnade such a success!

Lastly, and most importantly, thank you- our patrons- for your support of Ever After Productions, The Wizard of Oz, and The Colonnade Theater. We couldn’t continue on our mission to connect families with the magic of live theater without your support. Enjoy the show!!
