    Amber Beasley, LMHC

    Amber Beasley is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and received her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling (MAMFC) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Upon graduation, she started working in the admissions department of a private psychiatric hospital in New Orleans. In 2012, she moved to New York. Amber’s work has focused primarily on children, adolescents and families.  Her career has spanned outpatient community health counseling centers, mental health clinics, assessments at substance use programs and making recommendations and referrals for services at different levels of care.  She is a passionate advocate for access to health care insurance for all of her clients, family and friends.

    Jeffrey Berman, Esq.

    Jeffrey Berman is a graduate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has been an attorney with the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Practice in Manhattan since 1998. In April 2014, Jeffrey was appointed the MICA Project Attorney in Manhattan. In that capacity, he represents dual diagnosis clients (those with serious mental health and substance use/abuse struggles) and advocates with judges and prosecutors to get his clients treatment through alternatives to detention and  incarceration. Jeffrey prides himself in advocating for treatment in the most serious and difficult of cases, humanizing his clients through both oral and written advocacy, and educating stakeholders on the long term merits of diversion as opposed to incarceration. Jeffrey also serves as a primary resource in his office to fellow attorneys who seek treatment dispositions or are navigating the intersection between the mental health and criminal justice systems.
