Michael Despars
Director (The Women of Lockerbie)
Michael is the Theatrical Arts Director at Fullerton Union High School. He has been teaching theatre for eleven years after graduating from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Acting and his first Masters Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. He completed his Masters in Theatre at the University of Northern Colorado in 2015. Michael was recently named a site, district and county semi-finalist for 2017 Teacher of the Year. He was the recipient of the California Educational Theatre Association’s Theatre Leadership Award for his work on the CETA High School Theatre Festival and for being the director of the Orange County CAPPIES Critics Program. In 2010 he received the New Teacher Award from CETA, an honor awarded to a teacher who has made an impact in Educational Theatre in less than five years of teaching. Currently he is President-Elect of CETA and Co-Director of the Orange County CAPPIES.

Stephen John
Director (Peter and the Stacatcher)
Stephen John is thrilled to be working with FUHS on this production of Peter and the Starcatcher! This show is a challenge for any director and the opportunity to bring it to life with this group of artists is an absolute dream come true! Some of Stephen’s favorite directorial credits include: SWEENEY TODD, ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE; ABRIDGED! In addition to his directing credits, he is also an accomplished designer and stage technician. He would like to thank all of the kids who were a part of this production. They taught him more about “process” then they will ever know. He would also like to thank all of you, the audience, for your constant support of live theatre and your willingness to engage with our artistic medium. We love the theatre and we love that you do too! And finally, he would like to thank his amazing wife for her constant support and belief in him. Now, please… enjoy the show!
