Band
Bass guitar: Eric Johnson regularly performs as a classical and jazz guitarist in addition to electric and upright bass. He has been on the faculty of Berklee College and has performed in many Jazz venues in the greater New England area. Eric and his wife Leslie live in West Tisbury with their cast member daughter Sydney and her sister Phoebe.
Baritone sax, clarinet, flute: Steve Tully is a year round island resident who performs with many divergent groups here, including the Mike Benjamin Band and The Island Community Chorus. He is a mentor to eager music students across the island, as well as an accomplished woodwind technician.
Guitar: Brian Weiland is thrilled to play guitar in this production of Hair. The Music teacher at the Oak Bluffs School for 17 years, he is a multi-instrumentalist who sings and plays with Steel Breeze, the Daytrippers, the Island Community Chorus, and in his family band the Misfits of Avalon. He is also a composer, and is currently composing music for the upcoming folk opera "1854." Brian is father of Hair cast member Liam.
Drums: Maddie Scott is a nineteen year old drummer studying music education and Modern Languages ( French & Spanish) at Umass Lowell. She has been drumming since the age of twelve and has since taken part in multiple competitions both in the US and France. She placed in the top 10 in the international drum contest for women, Hit Like a Girl. This is the third musical she has drummed for on the island, the other two being Cats and Spring Awakening.
Keyboards: George Luton is delighted to be back on the island this summer after the success of last year's Spring Awakening. Past productions include Bye Bye, Birdie, Legally Blond, Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver!, and Once On This Island. Thank you to the entire cast and crew of Hair for making this show such a fantastic experience.
